Frequently Asked Questions

Apex Home Care is contracted with the Illinois Department on Aging to provide Home Care services under Community Care Program for those who qualify at no cost to the client. The Community Care Program is one of the 1915(c) waivers for home and community-based services under the Medicaid Program. 

If you or your loved one:

  1. Are 60 years old or older
  2. Are either U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens within the specific categories;
  3. Are residents of Illinois; and
  4. Meet all current eligibility requirements

You may qualify for FREE Home Care service under the Community Care Program.

Medicare does not pay for In-home Home Care Services.

Apex Home Care assists with the activities of daily living in the privacy of your home. Our trained, dependable Homecare Aides assist clients with:

  1. Light housekeeping and laundry
  2. Meal preparation and assistance with eating
  3. Transportation or escort to medical facilities and errands (store, bank)
  4. Non-medical personal care (assistance with dressing, grooming, bathing, continence)
  5. Assistance with transferring
  6. Medication reminders
  7. Supervision and companionship

Our Homecare Aides are caring, warmhearted people who take pleasure in helping others. We screen them carefully and train them extensively before allowing them to enter our clients’ homes to ensure the highest standard of quality and a superior level of service.

All our Homecare Aides are required to complete:

  1. Background check including fingerprinting
  2. Reference check
  3. 24 hours pre-service training and skill check
  4. 12 hours in-service training annually
